I met Benji a little over two years ago at the LA auditions for SYTYCD. I have to admit at first I thought he was goofy even for my tastes but when I actually took the time to get to know him I found out what an amazing guy he really is. He has such a big heart and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. As the show progressed he was paired with Donny and I was paired with Ivan. Frankly he and Donny had an easy path straight to the finale while Ivan and I struggled before being eliminated in back to back weeks. We all went on to spend an amazing fall touring the US together and performing nightly to sold out crowds.
During the show and tour I was dating a guy that was a complete asshole and really treated me like complete shit to be honest. I'll never understand why I stayed with him for nearly two years. Part of that after falling for Benji during the five months we spent together. He always acused me of cheating on him with pretty much every single guy on the show. It didn't take me long after that started to end the relationship for good. However it still took me almost a year and a half to finally tell Benji how I feel. I'm really glad that I did now though because we've been happily dating close to two months and are very much in love. |

1. Who is your very best friend?
I don't just have one but first there's my amazing yet goofy boyfriend/love of my life Benji. (more about him in the update in the next post) Then there's Donny, Ivan, Travis and Natalie from my season of SYTYCD. This isn't overly known but I am also good friend with Vanessa Hudgens who I met on the set of the High School Musical movies.
2. Do you have friends that you secretly dislike?
NO WAY!
3. What makes a good friend to you?
Someone that would stick by you through thick and thin and that you know you can trust with your life..
4. Is there a secret you've never told any of your friends?
yes, Benji doesn't even know
5. Who was your first love?
Well that depends. I always thought I was in love with my ex boyfriend but when Benji and I finally got together I realized I was never truely in love with my ex.
6. Has anyone ever broken your heart?
well he broke my heart but it wasn't the only damage he did.
7. Is love a good thing, a bad thing, or both?
with the right person it can be the best thing in the world.
8. Have you ever told someone you loved them and didn't mean it?
I would never do that.
9. How far would you go on a first date?
Kiss nothing more. I'm saving my self for my wedding night
10. Have you ever had a one-night stand?
no see above
11. Have you ever done any drugs?
Dance is my anti-drug
12. What's the most alcohol you've ever consumed at once?
Never have and never will touch it. |

It’s funny how life works sometimes, just two years ago I was in a relationship that I thought I was happy in. Chris seemed like a really great guy at the time and we did alot together. We’re both dancers and did a lot of competing with and against each other which wasn’t really that big of a deal. At the time I was living in a small town called Orem, Utah and honestly there’s not a whole lot of cute guys around. Things between Chris and I started getting rough while I was filming the first High School Musical movie. He has never really trusted me and when he didn’t make it on as one of the dancers in the movie he tried telling me I shouldn’t do it since he couldn’t. Things really started changing whenI auditioned for the show So You Think You Can Dance the winter of 2006 though.
Ok i'm gonna go off the topic of Chris for a minute and talk about the show. For those of you that don't know a whole lot about the show it starts out similar to American Idol with the auditions. We have our "hell week" in Las Vegas rather than Hollywood like on American Idol. Our finals start as a top 20 and every week one guy and one girl go home til there are only four people left at that point it's the grand finale and one person is crowned the winner. The first week of the top 20 everyone is paired up and you stay with the same partner the first five weeks unless one of you is eliminated. I was paired with Ivan Koumaev and actually danced with him for all but one week of the time I spent on the show. He and I had really good onstage chemistry and had a really good offstage friendship. He is still one of my best friends to this day, close to two years after we met at the LA auditions for the show.
As you can imagine the chemistry between Ivan and I caused trouble between Chris and I. He never trusted me during the show or the tour that followed. He was constantly accusing me of cheating on him with Ivan and pretty much every other guy on the show for that matter. It took me til about two months ago to finally get sick of his controling, possesive ways and kick him to the curb. When I finally did it was like a weight was lifted off my shoulders and I was free. |
